Homework for the Week of November 27

November 28, 2006

Monday:
We are starting Chapter 9 in class. Your homework is to finish your Webquest project. I gave you a sheet of final reminders today so that you can double-check your project and make sure that it is as good as it can be.

Tuesday:
Your long-term project is due tomorrow. You have signed up for a day to do your presentation (either tomorrow or Thursday), so begin practicing it now. Remember, a presentation is not an unrehearsed show-and-tell, but rather a planned experience that you have prepared specially for the class. Good luck!

Wednesday:
Worksheet 9-1 Practice sheet, which you started in class, needs to be finished.

Thursday:
Worksheet 9-2 Practice sheet, which you started in class, needs to be finished. Your packet with 9-1 Practice worksheet, 9-2 study guide, and 9-2 Practice worksheet is due tomorrow. You also will have a short quiz on square roots and real numbers tomorrow.

Friday:
No homework.

Homework for the Week of November 20

November 20, 2006

Monday:
You took your math test today, so there were no new lessons. You have a Term 2 notebook check tomorrow. Be ready!

Tuesday:
Some of you did very well on yesterday’s test and some of you really struggled with it. If you did not like your grade when you got your test back today, you have the opportunity to re-do the test over the Thanksgiving break for a new averaged grade. Please pick up a clean copy of the test and a parent letter to complete. Your new test and signed letter are due on Monday, November 27.

Test Alert for November 20

November 13, 2006

We will have our Chapter 8 test next Monday. You will be able to use a “clue card” to help you remember formulas, but the trick is for you to know when to apply them. This test will be worth twice as much as the mid-chapter test and will be our next star and cookie test. I am holding Lunch Bunch all this week to help answer questions, offer extra practice problems, and add study time to your schedule. Take advantage of it!

Homework for the Week of November 13

There also is a new Kodiak Scholar problem (our 5th one) that is due on Friday. Check with Mrs. Hannigan if you want to do it so that you can get the assignment.

Tuesday:

Wednesday:
P. 418, Practice Quiz 2, all problems 1-10.

Thursday:
Service Learning. No new homework.

Friday:
Come to class today ready to make a scatter plot of your data for your Webquest project. Also, you will make a “clue card” to use in the test next Monday to help you remember formulas from Chapter 8. Over the weekend, study for the test.

Homework for the Week of November 6

November 6, 2006

Monday:
Study for tomorrow’s test!

Tuesday:
You took your mid-chapter test today. No homework.

Wednesday:
We looked at the slope-intercept form of a linear equation today. Your homework is to do p. 400, problems 3, 5, 7, 9 and 12-26 even. Show all your work and make your graphs on graph paper.

Thursday:
P. 407 problems 3, 5, 7 and 11-29 ODD.

Friday:
You are going to do 13 problems from the book for your combined 8-6 and 8-7 quiz. Go to page 743 (the Extra Practice part of your textbook) and find the 8-6 section and the 8-7 section. Then do all the odd problems from both sections. Please use graph paper for your graphing answers and DO NOT work with another person! You MAY use the book if you need help, but not me. This is due on Monday.

Test Alert for November 7!

November 1, 2006
