Test Alert for March 21

Your Chapter 11 test will be Wednesday, March 21. We will spend time in class on Tuesday reviewing and you will get a study guide on Monday. The test will cover 11-1 through 11-6 (but not 11-7, which we will look at later).

Test Alert for February 15

You will have a Chapter 10 test on Thursday, February 15. Now is the time to make sure you understand all the concepts and skills from this chapter. See me during study hall, lunch bunch, or after school if you need extra help.

Test Alert for January 17

On Wednesday, January 17, you will have a Chapter 9 test. This test will cover all of the chapter, even the sections that we completed before winter break. You will get a review guide on Thursday to start reviewing over your long weekend. We will spend Tuesday 1/16 reviewing as well.

A Note about Finals in Math

You will have a comprehensive final in math. It will cover Chapters 7, 8, and half of 9. You can use a calculator for part of the final, and you must have a protractor with you for the test. You also may use a clue card (3 x 5 card, both sides). Use this card to help you remember formulas and steps to do problems that you find difficult.

We will go over study strategies on Monday. In the meantime, you should use your chapter tests as study guides. If you can do the problems on the chapter tests, you can do the final. For Chapter 9, go over the two quizzes to make sure that you know the new material. Plus, make sure that you can use the Pythagorean Theorem with right triangles.

Finally, you will get 3 lifelines on the final. This means that you may skip 3 problems with no penalty. Happy Holidays from your math teacher!

Test Alert for November 20

We will have our Chapter 8 test next Monday. You will be able to use a “clue card” to help you remember formulas, but the trick is for you to know when to apply them. This test will be worth twice as much as the mid-chapter test and will be our next star and cookie test. I am holding Lunch Bunch all this week to help answer questions, offer extra practice problems, and add study time to your schedule. Take advantage of it!

Test Alert for November 7!

We will have a mid-chapter test on Chapter 8 this coming Tuesday. It will cover sections 8-1 through 8-5. You will get review sheets this Friday, but you can start reviewing material now. This will be a star and cookie test!

Note Change!! Test Alert for October 11

****Today we decided to change our test day to next Wednesday, October 11. With the shortened periods on Friday we need an extra day next week for review.****
On Wednesday, October 11, we will have our first full chapter test on Chapter 7. It will be longer than the mid-chapter test, so you will need to know how to work the problems more quickly with accuracy. We will do lots of practice problems during this week. I also encourage you to meet me in my room for Lunch Bunch this Wednesday and Thursday to go over problems that are difficult for you. The extra one-on-one time with me might be just what you need.

Test Alert for September 29

We will have our first mid-chapter test on Friday, September 29. It will cover sections 7-1 through 7-4. You will take the test in class without notes or the use of your book. We will have time on Thursday to review for the test, but you should begin to think about preparing for the test now. Doing your quiz corrections and redoing your homework will help you focus on how to do each type of problem. If there are any problems that you are still struggling with, now is the time to come in to see me for extra help.
